Introduction – A Historical and Cultural Note

A.M. Gorchakov school is a small, private boarding school located in the Brullovs' dacha, in the historical centre of Pavlovsk. The school was founded by the renowned St Petersburg businessman and charity sponsor, Sergey Edidovich Gutsait, and built in the image of the famous Tsarskoe Selo Lyceum. The main goal of our founder, and that of all involved with the school, is to create a precedent connecting both past prestige and future success by continuing the experience of the Tsarskoe Selo Lyceum through principles of education, responsibility and morality.

A.M. Gorchakov school provides quality scholarly education according to the federal educational standard requirements. The school's mission is to equip our graduates with a sense of responsibility and clear moral position which will help them become honourable citizens of new Russia. We build technologies of open education that are specially oriented towards use in a small school educational system, all with a view of reinforcing the connection that exists between education and society, business and state, and of nurturing charity and responsibility at all levels.
